• Volunteer wildland firefighters earn chainsaw certification in Colorado Springs ahead of fire season (koaa.com) — Black Forest Fire Rescue volunteers just completed intensive chainsaw and mitigation training at La Foret Conference and Retreat Center to prepare for what leaders expect could be a hot, dry fire season. Crews earned a national S-212 chainsaw certification while thinning trees on the 350-acre property, and recertification classes for experienced firefighters will continue through this week.
