Boulder County Expected To Issue Stay-At-Home Order
Boulder County Public Health said a stay-at-home order could be announced as early as Wednesday morning.
BOULDER COUNTY, CO — On the heels of the City of Boulder's stay-at-home order, which takes effect Tuesday evening, health officials said the rest of the county is expected to be under the order by the end of the week.
Boulder County Public Health is working with regional governments on a "coordinated approach" to the implementation of stay-at-home orders, said Jeffrey Zayach, the agency's executive director.
"The goal of these orders is to reduce the rate of spread of COVID-19 in the community," Zayach said in a statement. "We anticipate public announcement of these orders this week, potentially as early as Wednesday morning. We want to ensure that these policies are crafted to be effective and are as consistent as possible across our communities."

Under the new order, Boulder residents are allowed to conduct "only essential activities necessary to promote health and safety," such as getting groceries, obtaining medical supplies and getting outdoors "only if strict social distancing is observed," city officials said.
The order was issued several hours after Denver Mayor Michael Hancock issued a stay-at-home order.
