Coronavirus Live Colorado Updates: 2,307 Cases, 47 Deaths
LIVE BLOG: Here are the latest news updates about the new coronavirus in Colorado.

President Donald Trump has approved Gov. Jared Polis' request in declaring a Major Disaster in Colorado. The governor submitted the request Wednesday to secure longterm recovery assistance for our state.
Just one day after Polis warned people not to head into the mountains amid the state's stay-at-home order, Colorado State Patrol said troopers have seen large crowds in some regions.

Polis said it's important that Coloradans don't treat the order "like a vacation."
"It’s not the time to drive two or three hours to mountain communities," Polis said in a news conference Friday. "Wait until this blows over to enjoy them."
Data show that if people don't follow social distancing rules, up to 33,200 people could be dead by June 1, Polis said. With 60 percent social distancing, that number is expected to be around 11,500, he said.
"This is not a competition to see what you can get away with," Polis said at a news conference Friday. "The contest is who can best comply with the spirit of this order."
The order is "buying time" for the state to gather the necessary hospital beds and medical supplies, Polis said. The state's goal is to have an additional 1,000 intensive care unit beds by May, and an additional 5,000 beds by the summer.
