Boulder Valley High School Wins Academic Growth Award

The Colorado Dept. of Education announced awards for eight high schools whose students achieved the most academic growth.

BOULDER, CO -- A Boulder Valley School District high school was recognized by the state department of education for being among eight schools in the state whose students achieved the most academic growth.

Colorado Education Commissioner Dr. Katy Anthes honored schools and districts Thursday at an event at the Denver Art Museum.

The High School Academic Growth Awards recognize high schools "whose students demonstrate the highest levels of student academic growth in reading, writing and math," the department said in a press release. The award only considers high schools within each classification used by the statewide association for high school activities for the sport of football.
