BOULDER, CO — The City of Boulder announced a new transportation and mobility director Friday. The director was chosen following a national search.

Carlos Hernandez will take over the position Jan. 13.

“Mr. Hernandez’s background in city planning and engineering provides an opportunity for the city to build on its strong mobility foundation and to work with the community to implement the next evolution of transportation and mobility to prepare for Boulder’s future,” Boulder City Manager Jane Brautigam said in a statement. “His experience with mobility issues in Colorado and around the nation positions us well to maintain the current infrastructure as we also prepare for new standards in mobility.”
