1. Boulder County Launches Safe Streets for Students Planning Effort (bouldercounty.gov) — Boulder County is asking local students, families, and school staff to help shape safer routes to and from school through its new Safe Streets for Students planning effort. The project will analyze crash data and community feedback to create detailed safety action plans for 5–10 schools and a toolkit for all BVSD and SVVSD campuses. Residents can participate via surveys, virtual events, maps, and pop-up activities through 2027.
   

2. Dairy Arts Center revises Co-Production Program (bizwest.com) — Boulder artists now have year-round access to apply for the Dairy Arts Center's Co-Production Program, which offers rent-free performance space and production support. The revised model drops cash stipends but lets emerging and underrepresented creators submit anytime, with projects scheduled as calendar space opens.
   

3. PHOTOS: Portland-area library renovation named among best in the US (koin.com) — Boulder readers can take pride that the Boulder Public Library's Gunbarrel branch has been named one of North America's standout library projects in the American Library Association's 2026 Library Design Showcase. The recognition, shared with just 14 other libraries, celebrates renovations and new buildings that creatively serve community needs and emphasize sustainability and design.
   

4. Popular produce items missing from Boulder Co. Farmers Market after unseasonable winter, spring impacts farms (denver7.com) — Boulder Farmers Market shoppers are finding far fewer favorite fruits this fall after an unusually warm winter and a hard April freeze wiped out Ela Family Farms' entire crop. Longtime Boulder customers describe empty cases where peaches, cherries, and apples usually sit, while the farm leans on products like applesauce to stay afloat. Market organizers say affected growers will be welcomed back when harvests recover in 2027.
   

5. Moose attacks man while hiking in Colorado (denvergazette.com) — A visiting family hiking in the mountains near Boulder encountered a mother moose after spotting her calf, leading to a brief attack that left one man bruised but able to walk out. A passing trauma physician treated his minor injuries on the trail before he went to the emergency room.
