• Boulder City Council advances pedicab regulations (boulderweekly.com) — Boulder City Council has unanimously approved new regulations for pedicab companies and drivers, giving police clearer enforcement tools and setting licensing and insurance rules. Council also debated a major Frasier Meadows senior housing proposal, heard residents' worries about possible Spruce Pool and Flatirons Elementary closures, and reviewed how new state housing laws will reshape Boulder's approval process for affordable projects.

• BVSD's proposed school consolidation plan draws public pushback (kdvr.com) — Boulder Valley School District families are pushing back hard against a proposed plan to close several schools, including Douglass, Mesa and Flatirons elementaries in Boulder. Parents, students and teachers packed a board meeting to protest the consolidation, arguing the choices are unfair as enrollment declines. The board will vote on Sept. 22, with changes potentially taking effect next school year.

• La Mariposa fulfilled a Cervantes dream (bizwest.com) — Boulder County residents can soon honor La Mariposa founders Rene and Maria Cervantes as they're inducted into the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame at a Sept. 30 ceremony in Boulder. Their story traces a journey from selling homemade burritos in Denver to running multiple Front Range restaurants and becoming key contributors to the county's business and Latino communities.
