• Former deputy charged with attempted first-degree murder (newsbreak.com) — Broomfield residents should know that a former Boulder County sheriff's deputy is facing 10 felony charges, including attempted first-degree murder, after allegedly shooting at the Broomfield Police Department and damaging several patrol vehicles. Prosecutors say he also fired on the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, and a judge has ordered him held on a $5 million cash bond while a red-flag gun order and further court hearings move forward.
