Man, 19, Charged With Double Homicide In Colo. Springs

Police identified the man charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shootings of a man and woman found in a car in Colo. Springs

Colorado Springs police on Tuesday identified the man arrested for the double homicide of two people found in a car in Colorado Springs. Nashid Rayon Rivers, 19, is charged with first degree murder in the shootings of two people found killed in a parked car in the 300 block of Bergamo Way (Bergamo Way and Lower Gold Camp Road) on April 21, 2018.

At 9:20 p.m., police investigated a suspicious vehicle on Lower Gold Camp Road parked near the Bear Creek Dog Park. Two people were found dead inside the car. Both appeared to have been shot.

The deceased man and woman were not identified by the El Paso County Coroner's office, but KKTV said a caller had identified the woman as missing Parker nursing student Serena Garcia, 21.

Police did not immediately release a booking photo for Rivers.
