Complaint: Springs Utilities withheld text messages in CORA request about data center (koaa.com) — A whistleblower complaint alleges Colorado Springs Utilities leaders withheld more than 300 text messages tied to a Colorado Open Records Act request about Project Taurus, a proposed data center near Garden of the Gods Road. The complaint, sent to the Utilities Board/City Council, calls for an investigation into top executives and legal staff, while Utilities insists it has released all responsive records so far.
   

2. Colorado Springs man charged with indecent exposure at Memorial Park (krdo.com) — Police say a 47-year-old man was arrested at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs after allegedly exposing himself and following visitors for several hours. Officers cite simultaneous bank robbery calls for delaying their response, and the suspect was ultimately booked on misdemeanor charges and released, raising concerns about safety and enforcement at one of the city's busiest parks.
   

3. Downtown Colorado Springs welcomes record and vintage shop (fox21news.com) — A new record and vintage shop, Easy's Records + Vintage, has just opened its permanent storefront in downtown Colorado Springs, giving locals another walkable spot to browse vinyl, tapes, and vintage clothing. After years of pop-ups and a small space in C.O.A.T.I., the owners chose downtown specifically to support and enliven the city's core business district.
   

4. Colorado's largest Korean Festival happening Sept. 12 (fox21news.com) — Colorado Springs residents can experience Colorado's largest Korean Festival on September 12 at America the Beautiful Park, with free admission and an all-day lineup of performances, games, and food. Organizers say the event's unity and Bibimbap ceremonies highlight how diverse cultures can come together, while fundraising will support two organizations aiding North Korean defectors.
   

5. Secretary of Energy, congressmen push for reliable power over renewable outside CSU coal power plant (gazette.com) — National and state leaders visited Colorado Springs Utilities' Ray Nixon coal plant to argue for keeping it open beyond 2032, emphasizing reliable and affordable power over faster renewable transitions. While the Trump administration and local Republican congressmen support extending coal use, Utilities says it will follow state law and currently has no plans to seek another extension, affecting how Colorado Springs powers homes and businesses.
