- Check washing scam hits Denver. A Denver woman was surprised when she heard the term after nearly being scammed for $5,000. "Check washing" is a tactic that thieves use where they apply a solvent to a check that removes ink that's already been written and its then rewritten. (7News)
- Denver's microtransit program is coming to Globeville, Elyria-Swansea neighborhoods. The city's small van service transit service is designed to fill in gaps in RTD's service. (Denverite)
- The Preservery is closing its doors for good. The owners of the RiNO restaurant blame increased rents, having to work all the time and the pandemic for the business' demise. (Learn Mawson)
- Is Denver's Zuni Power Plant worth saving? Sun Valley residents sure hope so. Residents banded together with Historic Denver to submit an application to nominate the old Xcel Energy coal plant as one of Denver's Most Endangered Places — a list that's published each year by Colorado Preservation, Inc. - More than 150 people housed in motels will have to move by mid-September. Federal funding is ending for the hotels that have been used as emergency shelters during the pandemic, and the city just gave the them notice that the last day of their stay at one of the motels, the Quality Inn on Zuni Street, will be Sept. 16. - Dunkin' is raising a cup to Colorado teachers. On Sept. 1, in celebration of educators, teachers can head into any Dunkin' location and get a free medium hot or iced coffee. Guests can also submit nominations for one lucky teacher to win free coffee for a year. The website will not go live until the sweepstakes starts. (Dunkin')
- Lots of rocks! The HardRock Summit Gem and Jewelry show is coming to the Colorado Convention Center. (Sept. 8-11)
