Repair work to begin on large sinkhole northeast of Denver as road continues to deteriorate (cbsnews.com) — Drivers in the Denver metro area should avoid Belle Creek Boulevard in Commerce City, where a major sinkhole has kept the road between Beeler Street and 112th Avenue closed for more than two weeks. Crews are starting water line repairs on Monday, with work expected to last about a week while experts assess ongoing damage to the road and sidewalk.
   

3. Denver murder conviction reversed for incomplete self-defense instruction (gazette.com) — A state appeals court has thrown out a Denver murder conviction, ruling that a Denver judge failed to fully instruct jurors on the defendant's self-defense rights. The panel ordered a new trial in the 2021 Capitol Hill shooting, emphasizing that jurors should have considered whether the defendant responded to an alleged robbery or assault when he fired.

Gazette family of papers rakes in 64 awards at 2025 Colorado Press Association Better News Contest (denvergazette.com) — Colorado's Gazette family of newspapers, including The Denver Gazette, racked up 64 awards in the 2025 Colorado Press Association Better News Contest, with 16 going to the Denver paper. 5. Denver man charged with tampering with water gates, diverting millions of dollars worth of drinking water (denvergazette.com) — A Denver resident has been charged with allegedly tampering with a key Front Range water system that supplies drinking water to Northglenn and Golden, potentially diverting millions of dollars' worth of water. State and federal investigators say the multi-year interference damaged Berthoud Pass Watershed Ditch infrastructure, and the Colorado Attorney General has filed multiple felony counts tied to water system tampering and theft.
