Nominate Denver’s best teacher: Westerra celebrates educators with first pitch

Further solidifying its position as an advocate for Colorado’s educators, Westerra Credit Union (Westerra) has once again partnered with the Colorado Rockies for its Teachers First Pitch event. In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4 – 8), an exceptional Colorado-based K-12 educator will be honored with the ceremonial first pitch at the Rockies game against the Atlanta Braves at Coors Field on May 2. The entire community – students, parents and colleagues – is invited to submit a teacher who goes above and beyond in the classroom. “Education is a pillar of Westerra’s work across Colorado’s Front Range,” said Anneliese Elrod, chief operating officer at Westerra. “This collaboration gives us the opportunity to celebrate the role that all educators and school support staff hold in our community, and it serves as one of many commitments we’re making to support education in the months to come.

The selected teacher will be announced on April 28, following a review of all submissions by a committee of Westerra’s employees. The winner will receive four complimentary tickets to the game to share with family, friends or fellow fans, in addition to throwing the first pitch.
