DENVER — As of Wednesday afternoon, 1,549 people were infected with the new coronavirus in Denver, health officials confirmed. Compared to other counties, Denver continues to report the highest number of cases, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

There have been 63 deaths in Denver, health officials confirmed.

The Colorado Hospital Association has released new coronavirus data about the number of hospitalized patients that have been discharged. Darlene Tad-y, the association's vice president of clinical affairs, thanked Coloradans who've complied with the state's stay-at-home order.

"Colorado hospitals report early signs of a leveling off of patients being hospitalized with COVID-19," Tad-y said in a statement. "Coloradans are doing an extraordinary job of social distancing, leading to this flattening of our curve."

  • Sunday: 167 patients
  • Monday: 150 patients
  • Tuesday: 204 patients

The data company SafeGraph posted a report that shows the percent of people staying home in each county, and the study shows that Denver is ranked No. 7 in the state for compliance.

According to government data posted Thursday afternoon, 8,675 people were infected with the new coronavirus in Colorado among 41,830 people who have been tested. There were 1,693 people hospitalized, and 374 deaths were confirmed.
