Denver Public Schools To Remain Closed For Rest Of School Year
Denver Public Schools will continue remote learning for the rest of the school year, according to a district letter obtained by Denverite.
DENVER, CO — Denver Public Schools will remain closed for the rest of the school year, according to a letter from the district's superintendent, obtained by Denverite. All proms and extracurricular activities will also be canceled for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.
In the letter, DPS Superintendent Susana Cordova said the district considered "the implications of every option," and decided to extend remote learning to protect students.
"This is a very difficult and painful decision, but one that’s made out of doing what we know is best for our community," Cordova's letter says.
