Denver Target: Store Set To Open In Summer 2018

The 28,000 square-foot store will be on the southeast corner of 16th and California.

Denver is right on target to get a new Target. The retail giant will open a new 28,000-square foot store on the 16th Street Mall. The store, which will be on the second and third floors of the building at 16th and California, will open in the summer of 2018 - if not earlier.

Target says the store will target Denver consumers with a mix of fresh produce, a CVS, men's and women's clothing, as well as home office and electronics.

The building currently houses an Einstein Bagels and Red Robin on the ground floor, both of which will stay.

The expansion is part of Target's push to have more so-called "small format" stores, which are substantially smaller than the average Target, which is about 130,000 square-feet.

The lease - approved earlier this week - follows a City Council moe to provide $4 million in tax incentives to help bring businesses downtown.
