History Colorado's New Exhibit Will Display 100 Artifacts
John Denver's guitar and 99 other objects will tell the history of the state in artifacts at Denver's History Colorado Center this fall.

DENVER, CO -- Would you like to see John Denver's Yamaha guitar, crafted by master luthier Terumi Nakamoto? How about a 13,000 year-old tool used by the Front Range's Paleoindians, or a twenty-first century footwear innovation from Boulder's Crocs shoes? A new 3,700 sq. foot exhibit space on the third floor of Denver's History Colorado Center will house a brand new permanent exhibit: "Zoom In: The Centennial State in 100 Objects," which opens in November.
Zoom In, sponsored by Colorado State University, offers visitors a chance to "step into the story" and explore 100 unique objects that have shaped our state, History Colorado said in a press release.
“The objects act as portals that open the doors to the stories of our past,” said Steve Turner, History Colorado’s executive director. “We hope this overview sparks curiosity about our history and a desire to learn more.”

“As CSU prepares to celebrate its 150th anniversary as Colorado’s Land Grant institution in 2020, we are proud to support this look back at the stories, people, and inventions that weave the history of our great state,” said Amy Parsons, executive vice chancellor of the Colorado State University System, in a press release.
The new exhibit will join the museum's other core exhibits such as Living West, Destination Colorado, and Colorado Stories. History Colorado again partnered with Tryba Architects, the firm that designed the History Colorado Center, to create both a gallery space and an exhibit design, a press statement said.
