I-25 Body Homicide: Arrest In Shelby Weatherly Case, Says Douglas Co. Sheriff's Dept.
Douglas Co. Sheriff's Dept. announced they had taken Mihail Petrov, 37, into custody.

CASTLE ROCK, CO -- The Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office announced an arrest in the homicide case involving the woman's body who was found on the roadside on I-25 the morning of Sept. 30. Mihail Petrov, 30, was arrested in Denver in connection with the death of Shelby Weatherly, 24. Petrov was taken into custody around noon Oct. 13. He has been booked into the Douglas County Detentions Center and is being held on a $500,000 bond.

Petrov was charged with two felonies: accessory to a first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence and misdemeanor charges of concealing a death.
“We take crimes like these very seriously and investigate with utmost urgency,” Douglas Co. Sheriff Spurlock said in a press release. “We will continue to work very hard on this case until we get justice for Shelby and her family.”

The Denver Post reported Weatherly attended a court date for a Sept. 9 felony drug charge two days before her body was found.
