Body Found On I-25 IDed, Douglas Co. Sheriff Seeks Information

A woman's body found on the shoulder of I-25 near Larkspur, Colo. was identified as Shelby Weatherly, 24. Douglas Co. Sheriff seeks info.

CASTLE ROCK, CO -- The Douglas Co. Sheriff's Dept. sought help Monday in the homicide investigation of a woman whose body was found on the shoulder of southbound I-25, near the Greenland Exit, south of the town of Larkspur. The Douglas County Coroner’s Office identified the female as Shelby Weatherly, 24.

The sheriff's office asked for help from anyone who may have seen a vehicle parked on the side of the road either Friday night, Sept. 29 or early Saturday morning, Sept. 30 to call the Investigations Tip Line at 303-660-7579. The investigations division is "following up on several tips," the department statement said.

Emergency vehicles responded Saturday morning around 10 a.m. to calls of a human body found on I-25.

According to Denver 7, Douglas Co. Sheriff Spokeswoman Lauren LeKander said a caller told 911 dispatchers the body had "apparent cuts to the hands and gunshot wounds."

The Douglas County Sheriff's Dept. did not release any further information.
