Las Vegas Shooting: Englewood, Colo. Police Officer Wounded
Curtis Leoni, 52, a veteran officer of the Englewood Police Dept., was hit twice in the leg during a mass-shooting in Las Vegas.

ENGLEWOOD, CO -- A veteran officer of the Englewood Police Dept. was among the more than 500 persons shot in Sunday's Las Vegas mass-shooting across the street from the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The sister of Detective Curtis Leoni, 52, of Highlands Ranch, told the Denver Post that Leoni was attending the Jason Aldean concert and "got caught up in the mayhem," suffering two gunshot wounds to the leg. Leoni's injuries were not life-threatening, his sister told the Post. "He was in the wrong place at the wrong time."
Leoni’s ex-wife, Carole Hammond Leoni, told Channel 7 News that Leoni was not on duty when the mass- shooting in Las Vegas occurred.
The Englewood Police Dept. did not immediately respond to a request for comments. The Post reported that an Englewood police spokesman said he could not comment about an incident that happened outside Englewood.
