As for the most popular winter activity in Colorado, skiing takes the cake. Which, again, makes sense-- especially when you consider the number of world-renowned ski resorts nestled in Colorado. Between the slopes in Breckenridge to Vail and Aspen, Coloridians have no shortage of skiing options. And apparently, they take advantage of living in what is arguably the best state for skiing in the country.
Interestingly, Colorado’s top activities --scenic drives and snow skiing-- are fairly unique. Though this might seem like mainstream winter activities they’re not nearly as prevalent in other states. Colorado is the only state in which taking a scenic drive is the most searched activity. Additionally, Colorado is one of only two states where skiing is the most searched winter activity. Oddly enough, Vermont is the only other state in the country where skiing is the most searched winter activity.
In some of Colorado’s border states, like Utah and Wyoming, locals prefer winter activities like drinking eggnog, ice skating, and building snowmen to snow skiing.
In terms of national trends, ice skating and taking Christmas light drives are the two most popular activities in the country. So it’s safe to say that Colorado’s more unique top activity sets the state apart.
Now that you have the scoop on what to do in Colorado this fall and winter, it’s time to take advantage of your state’s amazing slopes and scenic drives this season… if you haven’t already.
