Bear roams into Denver neighborhood, tumbles out of tree after being tranquilized (wkrn.com) — A young black bear wandered into Denver's Platt Park neighborhood Sunday morning, drawing police and Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers who tranquilized it and safely relocated it. Neighbors watched as the bear tumbled from a tree but was uninjured, highlighting what officials call a historic year for bear activity. Residents are urged to secure trash, bird feeders, and outdoor food to avoid more close encounters.
   

4. "The Outsiders" cast visit with S.E. Hinton prior to bringing musical to Denver (cbsnews.com) — A Tony Award-winning adaptation of "The Outsiders" is headed to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts from September 8–27, giving local theater fans a fresh, musical take on S.E. Hinton's classic. Cast members say live performance, music, and choreography deepen the emotional connection to the beloved characters and keep the story relevant for new generations. Tickets are available through the DCPA website.
   

5. An 88-yard strike and 3 TDs: Sam Ehlinger's big night for the Broncos in 34-6 rout of Vikings (denver7.com) — Sam Ehlinger lit up Empower Field in Denver's preseason finale, throwing three touchdowns — including an 88-yard bomb to rookie tight end Justin Joly — in the Broncos' 34–6 win over the Vikings. Backup QB Jarrett Stidham also led early scoring drives, while running back Cody Schrader piled up 132 total yards. The Broncos now turn toward their Sept. 14 road opener against Kansas City.
