Safest Cities In The Country: Where Denver Ranks

Which Colorado cities are the safest for residents? Analysts have released a new ranking.

DENVER, CO — A new study ranks the safest cities in our nation. Analysts looked at violent crime rates, property crime rates and the cost of crime in 303 U.S. cities with populations of more than 100,000 people.

While no Colorado cities are named among Moneygeek's top 20 Safest Cities in America, Fort Collins was ranked in the top 40.

Denver is ranked No. 232:

  • Violent crime rate: 748.9
  • Property crime rate: 3,743.50
  • Cost of crime per capita: $2,173

Analysts used FBI crime data and research by professors Kathryn McCollister and Michael French of the University of Miami, and Hai Fang of the University of Colorado, Denver.
