  1. Getting more kids on the slopes is a win-win-win. Christy Sports has partnered with Loveland Ski Area and Monarch Mountain to provide discounted season passes for kids as a way reduce the cost of winter sports for families and to get more kids outdoors during the winter months. (EIN News)
  2. Another candidate throws their hat in the ring for Denver Mayor. This morning, Lisa Calderon announced her intentions to vie for the seat come this spring. The Denver municipal election is in April 2023, and there are already 13 other candidates running for the top spot, with more expected to announce any day. (Denverite)
  3. Timed entry ends at Rocky Mountain National Park for the season. After Oct. 11, entry permits will no longer be required to enter the park. It's possible that longer lines and congestion may exist, so be prepared for longer than normal lines, especially on weekends. (KDVR)
  4. State of Colorado Outdoor Recreation Grant recipients announced. The Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office announced 10 recipients as part of the first round of Outdoor Recreation grants. More than $3.8 million will be distributed this year, and the grants are designed to promote strategic economic development investments across the state. (Valley Voice)
  5. One of the first unionized Starbucks in Colorado has shut down. A Starbucks store in Colorado Springs announced that the company was closing the store permanently. Management blames the closure over health and safety concerns, but the both employees and union disputes this reasoning. (CPR)

The City is partnering with Colorado Coalition For the Homeless with a plan to create a more sustainable supportive housing program at the location. (Denver)
