Steamboat Springs Physical Therapist to Present at Conference

Physical Therapist Gregory Johnson has been invited to speak at the 2019 American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists’ Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, on Oct. 26. Johnson practices at Johnson and Johnson Physical Therapy, located at 1880 Loggers Lane in Steamboat Springs.
Johnson will deliver a presentation entitled “Enhancing posture and movement through management of the 3 pressure systems.” The lecture will highlight the importance of posture for health and function and how to utilize manual therapy to enhance quality of life.
Johnson graduated from the University of Southern California in 1971. After that, he completed a one-year residency program at Kaiser Vallejo where he remained as senior faculty for six years. Johnson is regarded for developing the first soft tissue mobilization course for physical therapists in 1980. He has trained or directed the training of more than 40,000 therapists across the U.S. and internationally. Johnson has authored multiple book chapters and articles over the course of his distinguished career and is currently involved in several research projects on functional manual therapy.
