Juniper Village at Aurora, a premiere assisted living community, is pleased to announce the addition of two new associates to their leadership team – Akela Allen and Jacqueline Quinn. Allen has been named Director of Wellness and Quinn is Director of Sales and Marketing.

In three short months, both ladies have made quite an impact on the residents, families and fellow associates.

Juniper Village at Aurora’s Director of Wellness Akela Allen has 15 years of experience in senior living and healthcare. Working in a delicate field that requires compassion and understanding, she has enjoyed building relationships over the years with the residents she has served, in addition to providing great support to their families. Always looking to encourage those looking towards a career in healthcare, Allen is happy to mentor future leaders of the industry. She also wants to uplift caregivers, with hopes to inspire them to have integrity and compassion for those they are serving, while promoting self-development and self-care.

While her time at Aurora has been brief, the Director of Wellness seems to be getting a little inspiration of her own. When asked what she felt about working at Juniper Village at Aurora, this is what Allen had to say: “This is an amazing community. All our residents are cared for based on their unique individual needs. The staff are dedicated to this community, bringing their best each and every day. We have multiple team members who have worked here 18 or more years!”

Allen is also a member of another team, her family. She’s a newlywed, mother to three sons and grandmother to four grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, gardening, listening to music and indulging in any cuisine that her husband prepares as she admits, he’s the better cook of the two.

Juniper Village at Aurora’s Director of Sales and Marketing Jacqueline Quinn has been in the healthcare industry for more than 10 years, with her expertise ranging from skilled nursing to assisted living and memory care. She was top of her class at both The Sage Colleges of Albany and Sage Graduate School in upstate New York and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in health services administration. She’s a member of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society of Psychology, graduating cum laude. She also has a certification in assisted living.

Her connection to healthcare began in her childhood, as she was raised by her beloved grandparents. When her grandfather became ill due to diabetes, which eventually caused dementia, she helped her grandmother care for him. She quickly learned of the struggles that dementia patients endure as her grandfather would often call her “Ro,” short for Rosemary, his daughter and Quinn’s mother, who died when she was very young. She learned how delicate patients are with these conditions.

Quinn’s goal is to continue serving older adults and their families and takes great pride in exceeding their expectations in the service they receive. Working at Juniper Village at Aurora helps her do just that.

“There are many things I love about Juniper Village at Aurora. We were the first female-founded senior living company, which speaks for itself,” Quinn stated. “I also love the tenure of our staff that provides the utmost care for our residents. I love that we focus on a small home-like model to make that transition into our community a lot smoother.”

In regard to her own home, that consists of her husband Tyler, who she’s been married to for 12 years, and her two children: son Landon, 8 and daughter Alanah, 6. She loves to keep busy and enjoys traveling with her family and going on bike and scooter rides. Quinn and her husband love to exercise and are very dedicated to their Peloton Tread and Bike.

Juniper Village at Aurora is located at 11901 East Mississippi Avenue, Aurora, CO, 80012.
