Finals week is almost over, which means students are gearing up for a well-deserved winter break. There are many fun-filled activities in the Denver metro area to take advantage of during your time off. Browse outdoor markets with friends and family, learn how to ice skate, or catch a holiday movie on a stadium-size LED screen. Below are a few ideas to get you started.
Markets
Cherry Creek Holiday Market
Browse the work of over 30 local makers, designers, and creators. Located on a street next to the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, this free outdoor market includes live music by local artists surrounded by a highly decorated holiday atmosphere. Find one-of-a-kind gifts for your family, friends, and yourself.

MCA Denver Holiday Makers Market
Located just a short drive from campus, the Museum of Contemporary Art brings holiday markets to a new level. Meet the makers, enjoy some hot sips, and explore the museum.
When: Dec. 17, 5 – 9 p.m.

Alternative Skate Market: The Christmas Nightmare
Located in the heart of the RiNo Art District, this market offers indoor skating, shopping, and entertainment. Skate rentals are included with ticket entry. Enjoy some treats from a food truck in the back alley.

City Fun
Living Lights
The Butterfly Pavilion is hosting many evenings filled with luminous aerial performers and glowing exhibits. Visitors will enter a new world of invertebrates. The indoor festival of lights is one of Denver’s newest holiday attractions!

Downtown Denver Rink
The Downtown Denver Rink makes its return at Skyline Park. Located near 16th Street, this fun activity is available every day. Since 2009, it has been a highlight of the Mile High City’s winter. Special events are also hosted throughout the season, so keep an eye out on their Facebook page.
When: Every day, 5 – 11 p.m.

Movies at McGregor
Watch popular holiday movies on stadium-sized LED screens at an outdoor plaza located across the street from Coors Field. These shows are open and free to all. Worried about the cold weather? Stay warm at tables with heat lamps.
