University Of Colorado, Denver: New Pilot Tuition Assistance Benefit To Give Employees More Flexibility

One of the many benefits of working at the University of Colorado is the ability for eligible faculty and staff, and their dependents, to take courses using Tuition Assistance benefits credits. In the 2019-20 academic year, 2,562 employees took a CU course. Whether it’s to excel in a career field or learn more about a subject of interest, CU is here to support its employees and help them save money.  

Starting July 1, 2021, a new Tuition Assistance Benefit pilot program will allow earlier course registration. Eligible employees taking CU Denver graduate courses may register seven days prior to the first day of the semester or the first day of class, whichever is earlier. Previously, faculty and staff using Tuition Assistance had to wait to register until the first day of the course in question. This earlier window for registration will give greater flexibility to our employees, the vast majority of whom (nearly 77%) take graduate courses. Eligible employees taking undergraduate courses must still wait until the first day of the course in question to register. CU Denver wait lists remain unavailable to those using the Tuition Assistance Benefit, including early- and late-start classes.
