Spring is around the corner. After a few snowy months, many of us are craving some in-person interaction and fun activities. The vibrant city of Denver offers many opportunities for students to get out and about. Mark your calendar for one of the events on campus or a short way away listed below.

Calling all plant parents! The Cactus Queen 5280 is here for two days. Enjoy a beautiful display of plants, ceramics, pottery, and more.
When: Feb. 19 – 20, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Where: Denver Milk Market, 1800 Wazee St., Denver
Universe is a unique new storefront and event space operated by Text Me When You’re Home, a Denver-based artist collective. The space will house a variety of local artists, live music, and community building activities. Text Me When You’re Home was founded on the uplifting and amplification of women, queer, and BIPOC artists and musicians throughout Colorado.
When: Grand Opening is Saturday, Feb. 19, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Where: 1869 South Broadway, Denver
In this fun collaboration, the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver has partnered with comedians to take art to a whole new level. Attendees will create or update their vision boards while listening to jokes. Materials are provided at the event. Tickets are $20 per person.
When: Wednesday, Feb. 23, doors open at 5 p.m.
Where: Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, 1485 Delgany St.
From Broadway tours to locally produced productions and immersive experiences, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts has something for everyone. CU Denver students can get discounted tickets. Visit the ticket counter one hour before any performance and show your valid student ID. If there’s remaining seats, you can purchase a ticket for just $10. Current shows include, Rattlesnake Kate, In the Upper Room, and Hamilton.

Head to the Tivoli Student Union Turnhalle for this month’s movie night! This event is open to all CU Denver, MSU, and CCD students.
When: Thursday, Feb. 24, 5 – 7 p.m.
Destress from school with sledding! No experience required. All participants must attend a mandatory pre-trip meeting where Student Wellness Center adventure guides will discuss important details regarding the trip.Cost is $20 per student.
When: Saturday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
John R. Henderson (1921-2018) initiated the integration of Black designers into Colorado’s architectural profession. This exhibition showcases the trajectory of Henderson’s life and work, from drafting assignments to the residential and commercial projects he designed independently in Denver and beyond.
