Xcel Energy To Stop Monthly Pipeline Fee In Colorado: Report

Xcel Energy will drop a monthly fee for gas users under a settlement with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, the report said.

DENVER, CO — In January, Xcel Energy will drop a monthly fee for gas users after a settlement was reached with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, a report says.

The Pipeline System Integrity Adjustment rider began 10 years ago and was designed to pay for safety upgrades, the Colorado Sun reported.

The cost of the rider each month depends on how much gas a customer uses, and the type of service (i.e. residential or commercial), according to Xcel.
