Loretto Heights theater to get $45M renovation for Harvey Park community (denver7.com) — Southwest Denver's Harvey Park neighborhood is finally getting a major cultural hub as the historic May Bonfils Theatre at Loretto Heights undergoes a $45 million city-funded renovation. Partnering with Community College of Denver, the project will create a performing arts and education venue by 2028, giving local residents a walkable place for shows, classes, and community gatherings.
   

2. Denver revenues rise despite expectations for flat year (denvergazette.com) — Denver's finances are looking slightly stronger than expected, with city officials considering raising this year's revenue forecast ahead of Mayor Mike Johnston's 2027 budget proposal. City Council also advanced key measures affecting residents, including a $55 million contract for jail health care, expanded billing services, and new philanthropic naming opportunities at Boettcher Concert Hall in the Denver Performing Arts Complex.
   

3. Denver police arrest suspect in quadruple shooting at nightclub (denverpost.com) — Denver police have arrested a 20-year-old man after four people, including a security guard, were shot outside a southwest Denver nightclub early Saturday; all are expected to survive. Investigators say multiple guns were fired and are still determining who else may have shot, as this incident follows other recent multi-victim shootings tied to Denver nightclubs.
   

4. Bow Mar hires lawyer, PR firm for controversial gate plan (denverite.com) — Denver residents who use Sheridan Boulevard and nearby streets could soon face new gates as the tiny town of Bow Mar moves ahead with plans to restrict access on public roads along Denver's southwest border. Denver and Littleton officials are pushing back, warning the closures could block their residents and disrupt key neighborhood connections.
   

5. Denver bringing back online parking ticket disputes after backlash (denver7.com) — If you've been frustrated by in-person-only parking ticket disputes in Denver, online challenges are returning on Sept. 14. After the city shut down its portal during budget cuts, disputes plunged and residents complained about access, prompting transportation officials to restore a remote system for uploading documents and contesting citations from home.
