📰 News we're reading

• About our RHTP Awardees (colorado.gov) — Health care in Dillon is getting a boost, with Summit Urgent Care at Dillon awarded over $72,000 through Colorado's Rural Health Transformation Program. The statewide initiative is investing millions to expand rural telehealth, emergency services, and behavioral health, meaning Dillon residents could see stronger local urgent care and better-connected regional services in the coming years.

• Summit County recreators question use of step-over barriers for e-bikes (summitdaily.com) — Trail users in Summit County are debating new step-over barriers on the Creek Trail near Wildernest, which sits in the Dillon Ranger District and is popular with Silverthorne and Dillon-area residents. While the Forest Service says the barriers help keep e-bikes off non-motorized trails, some locals worry they make access harder for seniors, people with disabilities, and mountain bikers.

• Colorado Ski Area Announces New Chairlift For The 2027-28 Season (unofficialnetworks.com) — Dillon-area skiers driving I-70 to Loveland can look forward to a new high-speed quad replacing Chair 2 for the 2027-28 season, improving access to beginner-friendly terrain. The Forest Meadow Lift will change the alignment through Cat's Nix glades, easing congestion and giving Summit County residents a faster way to reach more of the mountain.
