Durango prosecutor files criminal charges against federal immigration officer (durangoherald.com) — Durango’s district attorney has filed assault and criminal mischief charges against a federal Customs and Border Protection officer over an alleged October confrontation with a protester outside the local ICE field office. The officer is accused of injuring a woman and damaging her phone during a prolonged immigration protest, with a first court appearance set in La Plata County Court on May 27.

CSP: Driver fails to stop, causes 3-vehicle crash with trooper (westernslopenow.com) — A Durango man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after allegedly running a stop sign and hitting a Colorado State Patrol trooper’s car in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 172 in La Plata County. The trooper suffered minor injuries and was treated and released, while other drivers were unhurt. State Patrol officials are using the incident to stress planning sober rides.
