📰 News we're reading

• Parents demand answers from Jeffco Public Schools about unreleased safety audit flagging 153 threats (denver7.com) — Evergreen families are learning that Jeffco Public Schools received a safety audit flagging 153 serious threats, including a student “hit list,” months before the Evergreen High School shooting but never shared it publicly. Parents are now pressing district leaders for transparency on how those warnings were handled and what’s being done to better protect students.

• Driver rescued from burning Mini Cooper on Highway 74 (westernslopenow.com) — A 66-year-old Evergreen man was seriously hurt Monday when his Mini Cooper crashed, rolled down an embankment and caught fire on Highway 74 in Jefferson County. Passersby pulled him from the burning car and performed CPR before he was taken to a hospital, and State Patrol is asking additional witnesses to come forward with information.

• Colorado conversion therapy survivors support bill heads to Polis's desk (timescall.com) — Evergreen residents are represented directly in a new statewide push to let survivors of conversion therapy sue licensed mental health providers for damages, with local Sen. Lisa Cutter among the bill’s sponsors. After a recent Supreme Court ruling against Colorado’s prior ban, the measure narrows its focus to professional conduct and now awaits Gov.
