Rabid bat confirmed in Fort Collins neighborhood (reporterherald.com) — A rabid bat was found in northeast Fort Collins near the Adriel Hills neighborhood, marking Larimer County’s first confirmed rabies case of the year. Health officials say no human exposures are known but urge residents to avoid wildlife, keep pets vaccinated, and call animal control or the health department immediately if they suspect exposure.
   

2. Memorial Day Flag Etiquette: The Right And Wrong Way To Display Old Glory At Half-Mast (patch.com) — Fort Collins will mark Memorial Day weekend with a Field of Honor featuring 500 full-size American flags and historical flag displays tied to America’s 250th anniversary. Alongside that tribute, the piece explains exactly how locals should fly, fold, display, and salute the U.S. flag on Memorial Day to show proper respect.
   

3. Poudre River Trail fully open after more than 50 years in the making (coloradoan.com) — Fort Collins-area residents now have full access to the 45‑mile Poudre River Trail, which officially opened end‑to‑end on May 22 from Bellvue northwest of town all the way to Greeley. A June 13 celebration at Timnath Community Park will mark completion of the final one‑mile segment between Timnath and Windsor, though users should still watch for brief closures during ongoing fence work.
