Fallen CO Officers Remembered At Memorial Ceremony [WATCH]

GOLDEN, CO -- Members of Colorado's law enforcement family will gather Friday morning in Golden to remember officers killed in the line of duty at the annual Colorado Law Enforcement Memorial ceremony.

This year is particularly painful in Colorado, with three sheriff's deputies killed within a two month period at the beginning of the year.

• On Dec. 31, Douglas County Deputy Zackeri Parrish was killed in an ambush of over 100 bullets in Highlands Ranch, as he and other officers tried to negotiate with Matt Riehl, a mentally ill former military medic who had gathered an arsenal of powerful weapons in his bedroom.
• On Jan. 24, Adams County Deputy Heath Gumm, 31, was shot and killed when responding to a call in Thornton. Dreion Martise Dearing, 22, of Fort Collins, was arrested in connection with the shooting.
• On Feb. 5, El Paso County Deputy Micah Flick, 34, was killed in Colorado Springs in a gun battle in an apartment parking lot as they tried to arrest Manuel Zetina, 19, of Colorado Springs, in connection with a car theft.

The ceremony will be held at the Colorado State Patrol facility at Camp George West, 15055 S Golden Road at 10 a.m.
