Golden Police Department Welcomes New K-9 Member
On his first night of patrol, Mao tracked down two hit-and-run suspects, Golden police said.

GOLDEN, CO — The Golden Police Department has welcomed a new four-legged member onto the team. Mao is the latest K-9 to join the force after successfully completing his Colorado Police K-9 Association Certification, Golden police said.
"In case you've been wondering 'who's a good boy?' we can tell you - Mao is!," the department posted on social media. "Congratulations to one of the newest members of the Golden Police Department - great work, Mao!"
Mao was put to work immediately — on his first night on patrol, he had six deployments, one of which involved a DUI hit-and-run crash, police said. Two suspects ran from the scene of the crash and hid from officers down an embankment in some weeds, and Mao tracked them down, police said.
