After a mercy-rule win over Bear Creek, the league schedule sends Bear Creek to face Golden High on Monday, giving local fans a chance to see how the Demons stack up against one of the conference's top contenders.
   

• Commissioners vote on STR regulations (themtnear.com) — Gilpin County commissioners have approved new short-term rental rules and advanced work on the 2027 budget, decisions that could indirectly affect Golden residents who visit or own property nearby. The board also committed $51,000 over three years, matched by the City of Golden, to support a regional wildfire mitigation manager focused on projects in Gilpin County and the Clear Creek watershed.
