City leaders also recently dismissed the city manager and say they're launching broader cultural and accountability reviews affecting Golden's workforce and community expectations.

Golden's Original Indoor Pool (goldentoday.com) — Beneath the Buffalo Rose dance floor in downtown Golden lies a historic 1927 swimming pool that once drew crowds with its clear mountain spring water. A 1934 Colorado Transcript piece celebrated the "Golden Plunge" reopening, describing stylish facilities, attentive lifeguards, Denver department stores buying tickets, and tram excursions that brought hundreds of visitors to Golden each Sunday.
3. The Splendid Stone Stable (goldentoday.com) — A long-gone stone livery stable once stood where downtown Golden's parking garage is today, serving residents with carriages, wagons, and even the town's only hearse. This piece traces the stable's many owners, its decline with the rise of automobiles, and the eventual demolition of the building in 1959, when its stone was repurposed along the South Platte.
4. Oredigger Camp celebrates 10 years of community building, engineering challenges and Gaga Ball (minesnewsroom.com) — Colorado School of Mines' Oredigger Camp is marking 10 years of welcoming new students, with this week's sessions sending more than 1,500 first‑years to the YMCA of the Rockies. The program has periodically shifted onto the Mines campus and into the local Golden community, deepening ties between students and town.
