1. New clinic brought to term (thebusinesstimes.com subscription) — A new Haven Health medical clinic has opened alongside the Pregnancy Center of Grand Junction, offering free pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, and soon STI services at its Patterson Road location. The longtime nonprofit is keeping its education, material support, and post-abortion support programs, while expanding medical care under a Christian mission and relying on donations and volunteers. Hours, walk-in options, and ways to get help or support are clearly outlined for local families.
   

2. New Colorado law designates EMS as essential service (kkco11news.com) — Emergency medical services are now officially classified as an essential service in Colorado, a change Grand Junction Fire officials say elevates their EMS crews to the same status as firefighters. While the new law doesn't bring immediate funding, it lays groundwork for future statewide support, and highlights that more than 85% of Grand Junction Fire's calls are medical.
   

3. Palisade poised to kick off 2026 Colorado High School Football Season (kkco11news.com subscription) — Palisade's football team will open Colorado's 2026 season Thursday night at Stocker Stadium, one of the first games played statewide. Their kickoff launches a packed local slate, including a cross-town showdown the next day when Grand Junction faces Central, giving Grand Valley fans back-to-back nights of high school football.

July real estate sales almost identical year over year (thebusinesstimes.com) — Home sales across Mesa County, including North Grand Junction and Grand Junction City, were nearly identical to last July, but active listings are up more than 24%. Prices have softened slightly and homes are taking longer to sell, with North Grand Junction leading both in sales and available listings, giving local buyers more options than a year ago.
   

5. Woman Jailed on Meth Distribution Charges (junctionnow.com) — Mesa County deputies arrested a 51-year-old woman after a traffic stop in Clifton, near Grand Junction, where suspected methamphetamine was found in her vehicle. She's being held at the Mesa County Detention Facility on felony distribution, traffic, and paraphernalia charges, with both personal recognizance and cash-only bonds set.
