Why More And More Travelers Are Ditching Moab For Colorado's Underrated Desert Haven (planetware.com) — Grand Junction is being touted as a less-crowded, more affordable alternative to Moab, with easy access to Colorado National Monument, riverfront bike paths, and family-friendly attractions. The piece highlights local trails, downtown restaurants, and lodging options, emphasizing that visitors can often save $50–$75 per night compared with Moab while still enjoying red rock scenery and outdoor adventures.

Vehicle Rollover Crash, H Rd & 21 1/2 Rd (junctionnow.com) — Emergency crews responded Saturday evening to a two-vehicle rollover crash at H Road and 21 1/2 Road in Grand Junction, where a Mazda CX-5 and a black sedan blocked the entire intersection. Several people reported injuries but were conscious as firefighters, EMS, and law enforcement stabilized the scene and began investigating what happened.

Local scout troop receives donated trailer after theft (kkco11news.com) — A Grand Junction Boy Scout troop that lost its trailer and camping gear to theft is back on track thanks to a donated trailer from Troop 303. The gift means Troop 353 can use community-raised funds to replace stolen equipment and resume regular activities, including an October campout, while continuing to welcome new scouts from the area.

Contaminated marijuana vapes sold at over 400 Colorado stores, health officials warn (denverpost.com) — Grand Junction marijuana customers are being warned that certain StayCon vape cartridges sold locally may contain methylene chloride, a potentially harmful ingredient. State health officials urge anyone who bought the affected vapes between March 27 and September 25 to destroy or return them, and to report any illness after use to the Marijuana Enforcement Division.

Seven wins and counting: CMU Volleyball remains unbeaten at home (kkco11news.com) — Colorado Mesa University's volleyball team stayed perfect at home in Grand Junction with a 3–0 sweep of Westminster, improving to 7–0 at Brownson Arena. Led by standout performances from Molly Whalen and Addie Ritterbush, the Mavericks now share the RMAC's best record and will host Western Colorado and Fort Lewis in home matches next weekend.
