15-Year-Old Accused Of Stealing Guns From Relative Arrested

Kaiden Martin has been arrested, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

LAKEWOOD, CO — A teen who's accused of breaking into a relative's home and stealing guns has been arrested, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Kaiden Martin, 15, and two other people were taken into custody at a home in Conifer, the office said.

Two of the guns were recovered, and authorities were searching for the missing ones.

Martin disabled a relative's home security system in the 13000 block of South Cedar Circle in Pine between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, police said. He then stole ammunition and several guns that were in the home.

Martin was released with an ankle monitor from Lakewood's Mount View Youth Services Center several weeks ago. The monitor didn't have GPS tracking, but alerted the center when he left a specified perimeter at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

No details were released on how deputies were led to the home where Martin was found.

Martin was also accused of burglary and stealing a handgun in April, the sheriff's office said.

Martin was wanted for violations of pretrial and bond conditions, authorities said.
