• Lawsuit alleges Lakewood charter school leadership failed to protect student from racial harassment (denver7.com) — A federal civil rights lawsuit claims leaders at Addenbrooke Classical Academy in Lakewood failed to stop repeated racist harassment and threatening graffiti targeting a Black student, despite multiple complaints. The student ultimately finished high school online, and the suit seeks compensation and accountability. Jeffco Public Schools is coordinating the school's response but has not yet detailed its position.

• Monarch football dominates after halftime to take big road victory over Bear Creek (coloradopreps.com) — High school football fans in Lakewood saw Bear Creek lose its first game of the season Thursday night at Trailblazer Stadium, falling 50–14 to Monarch after leading 14–0 early. Senior Elijah Hargrove scored twice for the Bears, but Monarch's rushing attack took over after halftime. Bear Creek now prepares to face Golden on October 9 at NAAC.
