2 Wanted In Connection With Shooting Death Of Dog In Lakewood
Witnesses say they saw two people shoot a dog near 12th Avenue and Teller Street. A surveillance video has been released.

LAKEWOOD, CO — A man and a woman are wanted in connection with the shooting death of a dog Saturday in Lakewood. Police have released a surveillance video of the two and the vehicle they were driving.
Officers were called to 12th Avenue and Teller Street around 7 a.m. and found a female dog — a pit bull mix — who had been shot to death. Witnesses said they saw a man and woman park near the intersection and get out of the vehicle. The two appeared to be arguing, police said.
The woman then shot the dog while the man was struggling with it and holding it down, police said.

The two then took off in the car and left the dog on the street, according to witnesses.
Police are searching for a silver Chrysler 300 with silver rims. The woman is described as white or Hispanic, with blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a black, long sleeve shirt and blue jeans. The man is described as white or Hispanic, with black or dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans with white shoes.

The dog had no microchip or tags, police said.
