Police said a man in a car allegedly tried to lure a middle school student walking home from a bus stop.

LAKEWOOD, CO -- Lakewood police are investigating a possible child-luring incident of a middle school student by a man in a car. A boy who attends Dunstan Middle School in Lakewood told police he was walking home from the bus stop around 2:30 p.m. Feb. 20 near West Wesley Avenue and South Indiana Street, when a man driving a dark-colored two-door coupe stopped the car and asked the student if he wanted a ride home.

The boy refused a ride and the car drove away, but then the suspect "turned the car around, stopped the car again and demanded the boy get into the car," police said in a statement. The boy ran home and last saw the vehicle driving away southbound in Indiana Street, police said.

The boy described the man as male as a white male, approximately 40 years of age, with dark brown hair and a full, greying dark beard.
