Coronavirus Update In Jefferson County: Latest Cases, Deaths

Here's how Jefferson County compares to other Colorado counties.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — As of Sunday afternoon, 787 cases of the new coronavirus were confirmed in Jefferson County. Compared to other counties in Colorado, Jeffco had the fourth-highest number of cases, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

There have been 30 deaths in Jefferson County, health officials confirmed.

  3. Weld - 808 cases
  4. Jefferson - 787 cases

According to government data posted Monday afternoon, there were 7,691 cases of the new coronavirus in Colorado among 38,742 people who have been tested. There were 1,493 people hospitalized, and 308 deaths were confirmed.

"Our hearts go out to the victims and their families," Gov. Jared Polis said during a news conference Monday afternoon.

State health officials said they believe around 17,000 or 18,000 Coloradans have already had COVID-19, which is .03 to .03 percent of the state's population.

Colorado's stay-at-home order has been extended until April 26 amid the spread of the new coronavirus, Polis announced in a state address April 6. Denver's stay-at-home order has been extended until April 30.
