Here are the top stories in Lakewood today:

  1. Kidney transplant patient inspires Devinny 1st graders. Sharon Morgan's first grade class at Devinny Elementary school in Lakewood is working on a class project to help kids that have kidney disease. (FOX 31)
  2. Federal spending deal includes $170 million for Colorado. Millions of dollars are coming to Colorado for projects and programs throughout the state. The money is coming through a program called Community Project Funding, which is funding that is requested by Senators and Representatives for projects in their state. (CPR)
  3. Politics could derail RTD from saving millions. The Regional Transportation District could save up to $120 million over the next 22 years if the agency refinanced some of its debt. (CPR)
  4. Inflation at nearly 8 percent-highest in 40 years. Those living in the west, including Colorado, face an even higher inflation increase than the rest of the country. (Patch)
  5. If you're shopping for a home, it's probably no surprise that metro area listings are at the lowest they've ever been. According from the Colorado Association of Realtors. In the seven-county Denver metro area, there are only 1,486 single-family homes listed for sale - The fewest number of homes for sale in the Denver metro area, ever. (FOX31)
