Drunk Driver In Fatal Lakewood Crash To Spend Life In Prison
Prior to the crash, Todd Kenneth Grudznske had six driving under the influence convictions, according to a report.
LAKEWOOD, CO — A man with six prior DUI convictions was sentenced to life in prison this week for running his pickup truck into a car sitting at a red light and killing the car’s 25-year-old driver. Todd Kenneth Grudznske, 48, was sentenced without the possibility of parole in the death of Angela Wimmer, according to a report.
The sentencing stems from a Sept. 30 crash at West Colfax Avenue and Kipling Street in Lakewood. Grudznske was driving 70 mph in a 40 mph zone, the Denver Post reported, when he hit Wimmer’s stopped car. Three other cars were caught in the collision, and at the time, Grudznske’s blood alcohol level was .341.
In July, a jury found Grudznske guilty of first-degree murder with extreme indifference; vehicular homicide DUI; three counts of attempted first-degree assault; DUI, 4th or subsequent; and two counts of careless driving resulting in injury.
