  1. Illegal gaming parlors shut down in Lakewood. Three secret gaming arcades that were violating state laws by allowing illegal gambling were operating within Lakewood's city limits, have been shut down by police. (7News)
  2. Earth Justice plans to sue EPA on lax oversight of ethylene oxide in Lakewood. The Environmental Protection agency is required by law to review its ethylene oxide standards every eight years, but the federal agency has missed this deadline in both 2014 and in 2022. (Earth Justice)
  3. Bark beetles are killing trees across the Denver metro. First it was a drought that was killing off the tree canopy, now it's the bugs. There's a major outbreak happening, and the beetles are attacking spruce and Austrian pine trees. (9News)
