Here are the top stories in Lakewood today:
- Everything went wrong at Rock Rest in Golden on Saturday night. An altercation in the bar on Saturday night ended in a hit-and-run in the parking lot, leaving one dead and seven injured. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's report, the suspects backed out of a parking spot in front of the bar and intentionally drove into the people they had been fighting with. (CPR)
- Shooting in Green Mountain King Soopers parking lot. Details are scant, but there was a heavy police presence in the King Soopers parking lot in Lakewood near West Alameda Parkway and Union Street around 9:3o p.m. on Saturday night. Police are investigating the shooting, where the victim is reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries. (7News)
- Warmer temperatures this week, until a mid-week cold front shows up. Warm mid-October weather is in the forecast for the next few days, with slightly warmer-than-normal temperatures, thru at least Tuesday. (CBS4)
- Moose takes stroll on I-70 near Silverthorn. A reminder to always be cautions when driving on Colorado high-country roads, as a large moose was out for a walk on I-70 this weekend. Not all of Colorado's wildlife are getting ready for hibernation season. Thankfully, Colorado has more than 60 safe animal crossings, but there's still the potential of collisions with motorists.
